About the Tucson Humanities Festival
In the Spring of 2009, the University of Arizona College of Humanities began presenting an annual series of public outreach events showcasing timely projects and topics of broad interest. Originally called Humanities Week, attendance steadily rose and presentations expanded from faculty speakers to distinguished outside guests. Programming has been continuously presented to reflect the interdisciplinary scope of the College’s disciplines and illuminate the impact of humanities on our lives. In 2011, the presentations began to be curated around a central theme, and in 2016, the name of the series changed to the Tucson Humanities Festival and has grown into a month-long series of events.
